Hi Andy,

actually I would recommend using Redcine-X/Rocketcine-X on the Mac. It
can transcode directly to MXF. I'll do a podcast on it soon, but until
then check out this document from Avid outlining the workflow:

http://www.avid.com/red/ROCKETCINE-X_FN_sec.pdf

Bye,
Christian

I've attempted metafuze via boot camp but the speed is unreasonably slow. Much slower than using RedRushes, but it's be great to go directly to MXF.

I've enabled all my processors within VMware Fusion's settings. I've rendered Phantom .cine files to DPX using boot camp so I'm thinking its a Metafuze issue as opposed to a boot camp or hardware issue.

My RED files are on a GRAID drive thru a firewire 800 connection. What do you recommend using as a destination? Do you go to your windows desktop, or point to a local directory on your mac? I assume going to a local hard disk is faster than going back to firewire.

thanks Christian, your tutorials are top notch and are really helping me in discovering some nice ways to use Avid's built in effects, it's one of the things that i've found to be lacking on Avid's site so keep 'em coming!
