22 July 2010 - 20:45#38: BCC Pan & Zoom

Show/Hide Embed Code

After last week’s look into Avid’s Pan & Zoom effect, this week we check out the Pan & Zoom effect that is included in Boris Continuum Complete 5 and later.

It’s a great effect that is incredibly easy to use, and we’ll create a simple zoom in auto-mode (it will literally take you 30 seconds to do) and get into the nitty-gritty for more complex animations.

If you haven’t watched it yet, check out last week’s episode on Avid Pan & Zoom.

  • Thanks Christian I am really stoked to learn that I have that effect. I hadn't even noticed it and had been using the Avid Pan and Zoom instead which is not fun to use the way the BCC effect is.

Thanks for another great tip. I'm really loving your blog.

Thanks Stefan! Gone are the days of the dreaded “Out of memory”-error,
trying to Clear All Cashes ;-)

    Another great Tut.
Get the feeling a lot more people will give BCC a go, although I do think Boris make the most un-user-friendly UIs.

    Christian,
I actually just used this for the first time. I normally flip between Avid P&Z and AvidFX (if there's Rotation or Motion Blur is needed) and it does rock. Thanks for explaining it!
My biggest problem with Boris has always been:
    a) Bad UIs
    b) Buggy
    c) Bad Customer Service (with a couple of guys on the forums being the exception).
The shame is, I've always felt their R&D department to be fantastic. Thanks again.
