14 October 2010 - 11:53#43: Audio Basics III – Very Basic Editing

Show/Hide Embed Code

This week, we’ll make some very simple audio edits, create transitions, check out waveforms and get rid of those horrid pops that are sometimes created by audio edits.

This is actually the first part of a show that was to include the audio mixer as well, but the episode just turned out to be way too long so I had to split it up into two parts.

  • Good series Christian. WRT the 1 frame dissolves (or 2 frames, as I do): you should show using the quick transition dialog to apply dissolves to all transitions in->out. It’s something beginners don’t usually figure out on their own and something that surprises FCP editors. You can even do it to an entire finished sequence, as a quick way to eliminate any and all pops.

Thank you so much for doing these podcasts! nFor some reason, episodes 43, 44, 45 and 48 won’t download. I wasn’t sure if you were aware of this, so I thought I would let you know.nThanks again for providing these podcasts to the community!
